FISHING: ROCK n SURF, OFFSHORE, KAYAK

All have their moments and their appeals. As long as it's saltwater. Freshwater; lakes, dams and the like hold no attraction whatsoever. It seems to me those who indulge in this inland activity are there to sample copious quantites of whatever product flows from a brewery or distillery, rather than catch fish.

No, I go fishing to catch fish. Sometimes with a specific species in mind, othertimes just to see what's there.

Shore Based:

Must be the more relaxing of the options. The sun. sea, pouring rain, howling wind, slippery rocks all part of the days enjoyment. Not all that productive, nevertheless, most days there's something for the pan or coals in the bag.

Offshore:

Productive, exciting and just plain fun. But not relaxing; I approach a day at sea from an ex, and would be, commercial fisherman's point of view. I'm there to catch my quota for the day.

Kayak:

It is not possible to adequately describe the sheer luxury of being a few thousand metres from land, not a soul in sight, and a fish as big as the craft you're on, coming up from the deep.

Now we've caught some fish, let's have a look at some:
